About Aliens Are Running Operations

Mission

AARO serves as the single authoritative office responsible for UAP-related activities within the Department of Defense. The office coordinates detection, reporting, collection, analysis, and identification of UAP across all operational domains.

Authority

Established in July 2022 by congressional mandate under the National Defense Authorization Act. AARO is authorized to review historical records dating back to 1945 and coordinate with Intelligence Community elements.
